1 medieval MS

Originally, Czerwińsk was the seat of Canons Regular of the Lateran (abbey buildings and a Romanesque church still in place), settled there in the 12th c. The abbey possessed a scriptorium and a considerable library. After dissolution, in 1819, most of the collection was scattered. During the winter of 1940/1941, its remnants, which included medieval items, were carried off to an unknown destination (Königsberg?) by the Germans.
